Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how Ledger (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit ledger-smb.com or become a client. We are the data controller for this information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details — your name, email, company, the plan you're interested in and anything you tell us through our contact form.
  • Client records — if you become a client, the financial, payroll and tax information needed to provide our services.
  • Website data — basic technical information such as your browser type and pages visited, collected by our hosting provider.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange your free call (legitimate interests).
  • To provide bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and tax services under our contract with you.
  • To meet our legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering checks and record-keeping required by HMRC.

We never sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Only where needed to provide our services: HMRC and Companies House, the accounting and payroll software you use with us, and trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under written agreements.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to working together are deleted after 12 months. Client records are kept for six years after our engagement ends, as required by UK tax and anti-money-laundering law.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
